Call For Submissions Definitely Superior is a non-profit multi-disciplinary artist-run-centre/gallery and encourages the submission of exhibition proposals from emerging, mid-career and established artists, who are innovative in their use of materials/media and approach to subject matter. Definitely Superior welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with other arts and community organizations, as well as curators. Our purpose is to encourage contemporary artistic endeavours in all media. We also foster experimental cultural development in art production, particularly those exhibitions that are politically and socially engaging. As a member of ARCCO, the gallery is committed to paying artists at the current CARFAC fee schedule for all selected exhibitions in our Main Programming. The gallery covers exhibition related costs (installation, invitations, mailing, opening reception, artists travel, hotel, talks, workshops, per diem) as well as assisting with the cost of shipping. Exhibitions are selected by the Programming Committee, made up of artists and curators, who are members of the organization. Gallery Floor Plan Directory of Artist-Run Centres of Canada Submission Guidelines Please submit the following items by email to defsup@tbaytel.net Please submit images as jpegs and documents as PDFs. The total size of the email should not exceed 12MB. If you wish to mail a physical data stick or disc, please include a self addressed stamped envelope if you require the material be returned. Please Submit the Following: a cover letter an artist statement exhibition proposal, including the number of works, the space required, equipment needed and/or provided, and any installation requirements. 10-20 images of recent work (jpg, pdf) Time based work may be submitted via a link to a host site (youtube, vimeo). We cannot accept video files unless online via dropbox , mailed as usb or disc. Please provide an image list indicating artist name, title, medium, dimensions in inches and year. curriculum vitae support material, any other supporting material you would like to include (web links, reviews, catalogues, etc.) Submission deadline is October 1st of every year with the programming committee selecting the shows for next year’s schedule.
