NORTH OF THE 45th National Arts Centre of Canada 3rd May 2015 - 30th May 2015 - Ontario Scene Definitely Superior Art Gallery in partnership with the National Arts Centre of Canada and 3 other Ontario Artist-Run-Centres will be taking part in one of the largest art events in Ontario-The Ontario Scene featuring 600 artists-90 events. The exhibition North of the 45th is but one aspect of the Ontario Scene that looks at the diversity of artistic practices and voices from Northern Ontario. from drawing to ceramics to video to performance, these works dismantle stereotypical notions of regional identity by offering complex and thoughtful expressions of the relationships that connect land, memory, and history. Curated by Laura Margita-[Gallery 101-Ottawa], Clayton Windatt-[White Water Gallery-North Bay], David Karasiewicz-[Definitely Superior Art Gallery-Thunder Bay] and Danielle Tremblay-[ La Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario-Sudbury]. Six selected artists from Northern Ontario are featured: Amanda Burk-[North Bay], Riaz Mehmood-[Thunder Bay], Sarah Link-[Thunder Bay], Laurent Vaillancourt-[Hearst], Tanya Lukin Linklater-[North Bay], Debajehmujig-[Manitoulin island].
