Internationally known artist Sarah Link’s exhibition comprises of new immersive multi component/media and ceramic based installations that reflect the interest she shares of the landscape as a defining sense of place through the selective use of materials and human reference. Attuned to natures process, the works address the her long-term interest in issues with the protection, conservation, and preservation of the environment and its inhabitants. A member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and MA from Stanford University California, Link has warranted numerous awards/grants from the Ontario Arts Council and invited international residencies/exhibitions. Link is also a retired ceramics professor from Lakehead University Visual Arts Dept.

Internationally known artist Riaz Mehmood is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Pakistan. His artistic oeuvre encompasses a range of practices including performance, video, photography and interactive new media. These works have explored a number of issues related to identity, history and media. Mehmood’s works have been shown internationally, including the US, Canada, Egypt, Pakistan and Indonesia. Graduate of the Integrated Media program at OCAD and an MFA from the University of Windsor, he has warranted numerous awards/grants from the Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council, and invited international residencies/exhibitions.

Gallery 1, 2 & 3. Show runs September 30th- October 29th, 2016. The exhibitions will coincide with a National Ceramics Conference taking place at Lakehead University, so there is bound to be many excellent visiting ceramics artists in attendance.
